Not updated since 2012 eh? Hoooo boy.
Well, quite a lot's happened since then.
I've had a couple of new jobs here and there. Moved in and out of London. Kinda had my head buried in the sand of the games industry. All of my spare time has just evaporated as-of-late. One of the downsides of having a job of any sort is that it takes up so much of the free time you used to use thinking about your own art, characters and their universes. Then you come home in the evening and there's just enough time left in the day to make dinner, do a few quick, unfocused scribbles on that painting you started months ago, then go to bed.
But it's okay. You could play some videogames to unwind and de-stress ... but then that little voice in the back of your head starts screaming "STOP WASTING TIME! BE PRODUCTIVE YOU FAT SACK OF CRAP!" Oh artistic muse. You're never here when I need you.
Plus, I really do not miss commuting to work every day on London's filthy, sweaty tube trains. I think I'd have contracted some sort of heavy metal poisoning if I'd stayed there much longer.
Still, my new job down in Bournemouth gives me much more free time in the evenings. Plus, the relaxed atmosphere actually allows to have some spare energy at the end of the day for personal projects. And during the day time, I get to make big stompy robots for Lego Games! How cool is that?!
Got a little bit more funding now as well, so I've bought
and myself a nice little cottage down by the seaside. We're in the process of decorating it now. Nothing too fancy or too big, but it's nice. If anyone is in the area and fancies a visit, do say. We'll go down the pub for a bit. :3
Hopefully you'll be seeing a few more pictures from me soon. I realized the other day that I haven't done a proper ref sheet for Scifer since 2008. And I haven't even done a full-body pic of him since 2010! I'm the worst furry ever! ... however, I rectified one of those issues last night with a concepty picture I've been working on since I left London.
Trying to keep Scifer simple, but I want to work on his boots a bit more. They're meant to be well-used prototypes, originally built to allow for 20 ft jumps into the air. They were also calibrated to cushion his impact if he hit the ground at terminal velocity ... so long as he landed on his feet. And he's not sure if those calibrations still work ...
Either way, I miss the days when folks used to draw pictures for me, so I'm working towards doing a nice new ref sheet for Scifer. May make it a bit easier if people ask me the inevitable WAT DUS YER CHARCTR LOOK LEIK?!?11 ... by the way, if anyone fancies drawing me something, that'd be cool of you. Not that I'm fishing for art or anything.
Anyway, my lunchbreak is running short, so I'll be grabbing myself a sandvich and cracking on.
Peace be with you, internet.
